SYMBOL - Hamsa
The Hamsa Hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. It is an ancient talisman that symbolizes feminine power and in all faiths, it is deemed a protective sign. It's said to bring the wearer happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.
I first fell in love with the Hamsa Hand on my last trip to Greece, where it was adorned with the Evil Eye. I was intrigued by its unique design and the rich history of the symbol.
It has been a common symbol in Middle East and Jewish cultures for centuries, though archeological digs have provided evidence that the hamsa pre-dates these religions and originated with the Phoenicians and was used as a protective symbol for an ancient Middle Eastern goddess.
It is believed to channel the forces of good, promotes healing and fosters miracles. It also gives protection from the “Ayin Ha’ra,” also known as The Evil Eye.
