Meet Our Muse: Inka Williams
Born in Melbourne and raised on the Indian Ocean in Bali, Inka Williams has always had a deep connection to the world around her and an enduring love of life.
Her journey in front of the camera began at just six months old. The pressure of growing up in the spotlight taught early lessons in resilience and strength. Inka’s commitment to live with intention and embrace nature grounded her through this growth and underpins her ongoing life philosophy.
Today, Inka balances an international modelling career and a thriving slow fashion brand She Is I, she is a testament to her mindfulness, Inka lives as we all aspire to; with intention, connected to nature and the people she loves, in a state of eternal gratitude.
Inka’s passion for life and the beauty of the world around her is contagious, reminding us of the importance of love—for ourselves, for others, and for the earth.
We captured Inka's first trip back to Australia in seven years in the lush, palm-filled paradise of Mission Beach in far North Queensland. In moments between shooting, Inka gave us an insight into her joyful worldview.
How has growing up in Bali shaped your perspective on life and influenced your sense of style?
It’s colourful, and harmonious, yet still with an edge of imperfection. Growing up in Bali has made me a very compassionate person. I feel so connected to the culture and energy of this island. It’s so sacred and deep. I think that’s reflected in my day-to-day life and way of living.
What was your intention behind starting your brand, She Is I?
To continue my mother’s legacy in design, and bring back to life her amazing creations from the 90’s.
You started modelling at a young age. How did growing up in the spotlight shape your confidence and sense of self as you’ve matured?
Honestly, everything comes with a positive and a negative. Being in this industry has helped me build resilience and strength. Staying close with my family and remembering my values has been the most important thing for me.
It’s definitely not always healthy being in this industry but it’s made me stronger, and I’ve had to find a good balance between it all.
