Moments to Love:
Mother’s Day With Helena Vestergaard

This Mother’s Day, we honour the quiet strength, endless love, and everyday magic of the women who shape our world. To bring this sentiment to life, we spent the day with our muse, Helena Vestergaard, her partner Nathan, and their two beautiful children, Sway and River, at their beachside home.
Helena’s journey through motherhood is raw, real, and deeply inspiring. In this intimate conversation, she opens up about the sacrifices, joys, and lessons that come with raising two little ones. From the wisdom passed down by her own mother to the values she hopes to share with her children, Helena reflects on what it truly means to give everything.
Between barefoot cuddles in the garden and sunlit play on the sand, we saw a family rooted in love, creativity, and deep connection—with nature, with each other, and with the kind of bond that keeps growing through every season.

Here, Helena shares her thoughts on motherhood, self-love, and the everyday moments that mean the most.
What does Mother’s Day mean to you now that you're a mum yourself?
For me, Mother’s Day is all about just spending time with my kids… they are so fun and vibrant.
What are some of the everyday sacrifices you’ve made in motherhood—and what have they taught you?
Motherhood has forced me to really grow up but has also made me much more passionate, empathetic and, overall, a better person.
How would you describe yourself as a mum, and what wisdom would you share with new mums?
I’m actually pretty traditional in my mothering… I believe in giving children the right boundaries and guidance, but I also like to have a lot of fun and keep a silly sense of humour.
If I were to share a piece of advice, I’d say that the more you give your child your complete presence, the more of their beautiful personality you will receive.

How do you prioritise self-love while raising two little ones?
Self-love can be hard, but I have been trying this thing were, when a bad thought comes into my mind about myself, I contradict it and try to replace it with something nice I have done for someone else that day. If I haven’t done anything that comes to mind, I have to as soon as possible!
Sway and River are so connected to nature, just like yourself. In what other ways are they similar or different to you?
They both love to have a good laugh like me.
What’s one piece of advice or wisdom you hope to pass on to your children as they grow?
Kindness always wins.
