Moments To Love: Sarah Burns & Patrick Burmeister
Love has a way of finding us when we least expect it – in the quiet moments, the everyday encounters, and the spaces where we feel most ourselves. For our Close Your Eyes Valentine’s Day campaign, we captured the love story of real couple Sarah Burns and Patrick Burmeister, shooting them by the ocean where their story first unfolded.
We got to know them as they reflected on how they met, what they love most about each other, and the future they’re dreaming of together. From a serendipitous meeting at Brighton Dog Beach to building a life filled with ease, laughter and connection, their story is a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful love stories are often the simplest.
Tell us a bit about your love story. How did you two first meet? Describe that magical first date!
We met at Brighton Dog Beach and hit it off instantly. What started as a casual chat turned into one of those conversations you don’t want to end, so we decided to keep it going with a glass of wine at a nearby pub. From there, it all felt very easy. We talked for hours, laughed a lot, and it just felt comfortable from the very beginning. Since that day, we honestly haven’t really gone a day without speaking.
What do you love the most about each other?
What we love most about each other is how easy everything feels. We share the same sense of humour, don’t take life too seriously, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company whether that’s cooking at home, sharing a bottle of wine on the couch, or laughing through the everyday moments. More than anything, we’re each other’s best friend.
What do the next few years hold for the two of you?
The next few years are about starting our loves together as husband and wife and continuing to build a life we love together. Spending time with family and friends, growing our careers, travelling, creating a beautiful home, and hopefully growing our family too.
What will you be gifting each other for Valentine’s Day?
Valentine’s Day for us has never been about big gifts. It’s more about spending quality time together a nice meal, good wine, and slowing down to enjoy each other’s company. We believe the everyday moments matter far more than one day a year.
What’s one thing you wish you could tell your younger selves about love?
I wish I could tell my younger self that love is more about a feeling. It’s about supporting and encouraging each other, putting in effort, and creating meaningful memories together. And that one day, you will find someone who truly gives you everything you need in life.
